Master of my Heart by Marissa Honeycutt
When life goes wrong, can it ever be made right?

Five years ago, Sabrina left Boston anticipating her stay back home to be full of joy and hope. Instead, she became the leading role in her own living hell. Nothing more than a shadow of her former self, she escapes a malevolence determined to break her, and returns to Boston, trying to regain a semblance of the girl she once was.

The girl without nightmares.
The girl without shame and fear.

Five years ago, Chase lost his heart and has compared every woman he encounters to the green-eyed beauty he met on the yacht. His life didn’t turn out quite the way he expected, but he has grown stronger through his trials. Now, a marriage deadline is looming and the woman he wants seems to be a ghost trapped in his past.

Fate brought them together. Evil tore them apart.

Can Chase lead Sabrina into the light before she’s lost to the darkness forever?

***Please note this is Part Two of a four-part series. It must be read in order, or nothing will make any sense.

ARC Review: ONE BABY DADDY by Meghan Quinn

May 17, 2018

One Baby Daddy by Meghan Quinn
"What are you doing now that your team is out of the running for the Stanley Cup?"

Forget.

I need to forget. I need an escape.

Only one person isn't falling for my reputation as the NHL's Golden Boy; she captured my attention the minute she called me out for snooping through my best friend's house. She didn't want to hear my reason--she only wanted to playfully give me a hard time.

Adalyn is bold, sassy--and the perfect escape.

She's everywhere. In town and in my dreams, and suddenly I need to spend every waking moment with her.

And I do, making this summer the best off-season I've ever had.

But in the midst of getting lost in Adalyn, what I don't expect is to get her pregnant.

And what I definitely don't expect is having to fight for her affection.

ARC Review: ONE MORE NIGHT by Jenika Snow

May 16, 2018

One More Night by Jenika Snow
When my sister passed away I adopted her daughter, Dolly, and raised her as my own. We were all we had left in this world and I was going to try my hardest to make sure she never wanted for anything.

That’s why I needed someone I trusted to watch over the most important person in my life. Being a businessman meant I was out of the house a good portion of the day, a necessary evil to provide for Dolly. A live-in nanny would ensure Dolly got the best care possible when I wasn’t with her.

And when I saw Emma for the first time I didn’t just see a caretaker for Dolly. I saw a woman who had every caveman instinct in me rising up like a primal beast. I felt possession and need for Emma the likes of which I’d never experienced before.
I didn’t just want a nanny anymore, I wanted Emma … all of her.

She might think this was just another job, but before our time was up Emma would realize she was mine and I wasn't letting her go.

Warning: Guys, this book is going to give you whiplash for how insta-crazy it is. Talk about a hero who can’t keep his hands off his woman! This may look like a sugary sweet read—and it is—but make no mistake: it’s filthy as hell. We have one alpha hero who instantly falls for the heroine and won’t let her go. Maybe a little obsessive, but hey, that’s what we like.

ARC Review: THE ULTIMATE SIN by Jillian Quinn

May 14, 2018

The Ultimate Sin by Jillian Quinn
Bless me, Father, for I have sinned.
That was how it all started.
With my father. Her father.
Their sins. Our sins.
The sins of our past.

Our love could break us.
Their power could destroy us.
But I would die trying.
She would die fighting.

The men who took her would pay.
Blood would be spilled.
Lives would be shattered.
I vowed to end them.
All of them.

ARC Review: FILTHY GODS by R. Scarlett

Filthy Gods by R. Scarlett
Prelude in the American Gods series.

Young. Wealthy. Elite. Attractive. The gentlemen’s secret society at Yale was filled with them.

And Nathaniel Radcliffe, the bane of my existence, was one of them.

As the right hand of the American Gods, he was conceited and arrogant. A dangerously handsome man in a tailored custom suit and shiny black oxford loafers.

The classroom was our battlefield. We made a sport out of arguing and debating, ready to do anything in order to win over the other.

Deadly opponents, deadlier minds.

I'd sworn I'd never give him the upper hand, until...

The secret I’ve been hiding for the last three years?

He just discovered it… and now he has all the power.

MY REVIEW

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First of all... that cover!! I am so sorry for the objectification, but...

Not sorry!! Hmmmm... Nathan(iel)

What is it about stories that revolve around characters that seem to hate each other that I love so much? In Filthy Gods, Juliette and Nathaniel gave me the push-and-pull, the resistance, and the undeniable chemistry that I was looking for.

Young. Elite. Wealthy. The American Gods ruled. Today it may be Yale, but one day they would control the world. Men wanted to be them and women wanted to be owned by them. Is it any wonder that they believed they could have anything and anyone they wanted? Juliette didn't stand a chance against Nathaniel.

Whether it was through Juliette’s memories of their ferocious debates or the present tension-filled circumstances, the inevitability of these two had me all tingly. The disparity between the characters, such as wealth, social status and background, only served to make their union that much sweeter.

It seems that no matter the sub-genre, R. Scarlett is an accomplished master of words. She won my devotion with her paranormal Blackest Gold world series and this foray into the contemporary romance scene was nothing short of a success. I only wish this story was longer. Rebecca, you are not allowed to write standalone novellas anymore. I need more of your words and I would have loved to get more of Juliette and Nathaniel’s story.

Release: 05.15.2018 | Contemporary Romance - Enemies to Lovers | Heroine POV - 1st person | Heat: 3.5 | Standalone - American Gods 0.5

ARC Review: WELCOME TO THE CAMEO HOTEL by K.I. Lynn

May 09, 2018

Welcome to the Cameo Hotel by KI Lynn
My life was on track.
The plan?
- Finish my MBA
- Get out of the hotel
- Finally date James, my manager
With only three months left, everything was set.
Then he walked in.
What I thought was just a difficult guest toppled my life in ways I didn’t plan for. He was an asshole, demanding, and more alluring than should be legal.
I had a path.
He destroyed it.
What now?

Review: IMMORTAL MATCHMAKERS, INC by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Immortal Matchmakers Inc by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff
Seven days to go from lethal immortal assassin to Prince Charming? Not likely.

Demigod Andrus Gray may look like every woman’s dream, but when it comes to charm, he sees no point pretending: He has none and makes no apologies for it. Behaving nicely hasn’t made him the deadly assassin he is today. But is that really the reason he’s still single?

The Goddess Cimil—owner of Immortal Matchmakers, Inc.—thinks yes. So when she foresees a mate in Andrus’s near future, she’s determined to make the match happen. That means hiring aspiring actress Sadie Townsend to help the barbarian “act” a little more civilized.

But are seven days really enough? And why does the idea of seeing Sadie everyday excite him more than meeting his mate?
