“As she struggled to form words, she was knocked further into the nether by a blast of lust so genuine and innocent she could only describe it as pristine.”

I don’t even know why that line grabbed me by the proverbial nuts, but it did. It tugged away at me and I feel it perfectly described the connection that was shared by Lukas and Magdalena.

Lukas’ father was shot in the head and is in the hospital. In his weakness, he calls on Lukas to step up, settle down, and produce some heirs. With no prospect in sight, his brother sets him up with ‘Dale’, a woman Lukas assumes is a ‘chubby comedian’. His assumption made me laugh. However, there was no amusement to be found when he set eyes on the woman of his dreams. Desperate to make her his, he tells his brother to cancel any plans with this Dale - not even realizing that his dream woman IS Dale!

Silly, sexy man. Ah, no matter. He’s laying claim. Too bad Dale doesn’t trust him with her heart as easily as he’s willing to trust her with his. Thankfully, Lukas was far more patient than I gave him credit for and thanks to him, this turned out to be an incredibly beautiful love story.

While Lukas killed a man for Dale during their first meeting, it was somewhat romantic. If you kind of squint your eyes, tilt your head, and throw your morals out the window lol. Seriously, Lukas was willing to do every and any thing for Dale. She was his one. And while she fought a long and hard battle to deny the inevitable, he was hers.

I loved their banter, their intimacy, and their growth. There was plenty of action and so many characters to get to know that I’m sure they’ll make additional appearances throughout the series. This was an amazing glimpse into the crazy and unique world that belongs to Nancy Haviland’s Bratva and I’m excited to see what and who else this author will churn out next!
