Review: Bed Of Lies Volume 1

Bed Of Lies Volume 1 Bed Of Lies Volume 1 by Niquel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I'm gonna let y'all know that this was not a romance. AT ALL!! It was a case of severe Stockholm Syndrome at work again. No freaking lie. The so-called "hero" was a human trafficker and he was PROUD of it. Proud I tell you. He was a sociopath, a psychopath, and had no interest in changing. This wasn't one of those stories where the hero was dark and deadly until he met "the one". He stayed dark and deadly right to the end. The "heroine" was the 17-year old girl he kidnapped and tortured. Who subsequently suffered from delusions lol.

This story wasn't a fairy tale. It wasn't about happy endings. It was short. It was fast-paced. It was dark and twisted. It was raw. It was so messed up. This is my first read from Niquel and I'm still coming off the mindfck that was this story. Many events take place in a short amount of time and these characters will have you questioning which side is up and whose side you're even on. I can't even imagine what the author will bring for volume 2.
