Breaking the Seventh by Allie Gail
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was the 100th book I've read for the year 2017 and it was bloody magnificent!!
This was one of the funniest and sexiest books I have
read. It's definitely made it to my Best of 2017 pile and I can't wait to add the paperback to my bookshelves.
Leah and Myles, individually, were hilarious. Put these two characters together and they were hysterical. I choked so many times so
please don't drink anything while reading this!
I couldn't stop laughing. There were so many times I had to re-read parts because I was busy laughing and missed the point! If I wasn't laughing I was swooning over Myles or fanning myself over their intimate moments. *wink*
BREAKING THE SEVENTH was basically about two people who were absolutely fine on their own but were amazingly terrific together. The title itself refers to Leah's birthday (July 7th) and the many awful birthdays (what she views as a curse) she's endured and her 24th one is coming up. Although it touches on serious issues, such as abandonment, overall it was a surprisingly light read. I did say it was funny, right? Well-written and delightfully entertaining, I was sad to see this story come to an end. However, I'm happy that I took a chance on an author that is new to me and that it paid off so well. Allie Gail's got a new fan right here!!
