Imagine falling in love with a man, then finding out he was a killer...

TRU BLUE is a sexy, dark stand-alone novel written in the same loving, raw, and emotional voice romance readers have come to love, and the deeply emotional literary prose women's fiction readers have come to expect, from New York Times & USA Today bestselling, award-winning author Melissa Foster.

He wore the skin of a killer, and bore the heart of a lover...

There's nothing Truman Gritt won't do to protect his family--Including spending years in jail for a crime he didn't commit. When he's finally released, the life he knew is turned upside down by his mother's overdose, and Truman steps in to raise the children she's left behind. Truman's hard, he's secretive, and he's trying to save a brother who's even more broken than he is. He's never needed help in his life, and when beautiful Gemma Wright tries to step in, he's less than accepting. But Gemma has a way of slithering into people's lives and eventually she pierces through his ironclad heart. When Truman's dark past collides with his future, his loyalties will be tested, and he'll be faced with his toughest decision yet.

My Review

This book was incredibly heartwarming. It was full of feels, especially the warm and fuzzy kind. It dealt with abuse, addiction, family, friends, expectations, despair, hope, dreams, and letting love in to light up your life. Melissa Foster wrote one awesomely hot gem of a book and I recommend that every romance lover out there take the time to read it!

"The heart doesn't care about bloodlines or birth parents. It just seems to know how to love in the same way our lungs know how to breathe."

There are too many adjectives to describe Truman. Humble, respectful, protective, talented and he had an immense capacity to love. Ergo, he more than deserved the moniker of Tru Blue. Paired with Gemma, a spunky and pushy and gorgeous gift of a woman with a heart of gold, their story had intense chemistry and fierce love. Gosh, it was love by the buckets full!

"This man. This incredible man should be too damaged to know how to love. Too broken to want to embrace life. And yet here he stood, her pillar of strength, revealing all his weaknesses and fears, baring his tormented soul."

To be honest, I'm still pretty much fangirling over Truman. He was the epitome of a man and I found so much pleasure with him as a character. He was such an awe-inspiring person. It's not often that I fall in love with the hero so quickly, but I loved Truman from the start and it was very hard to let him, and the beautiful family he created, go. Adieu Tru Blue!!
